All-American 15-1/2-Quart Pressure Cooker Review

The All American 915 Pressure Cooker & Canner is a practical and functional 15 ½ quart pressure cooker which is well suited for today’s home cook. This is the prefect size for both cooking meals and canning. It is made from heavy cast aluminum that allows for fast and even cooking, and has a practical stay-cool “bakelite” top handle.
Its unique “metal-to-metal” sealing system forms a tight seal which aligns the base and the lid. This pressure cooker has no gaskets and that means no leaks. This pressure cooker is always easy to open and close.

Using a pressure cooker for canning meat, fish, poultry and vegetables is the only method recommended by the U.S.D.A. This All American pressure cooker’s 15 ½ quart capacity works well for canning fruits and vegetables because it holds 10 pint jars (or 7 quart jars).

It also is the perfect size for cooking family meals like stews and roasts. With a pressure cooker you can turn an inexpensive cut of meat and make it tender and juicy in a relatively short amount of time.

The pressure cooker cooks food in its own juices. It is considered a healthy cooking method since the food retains its vitamins and nutrients better than food cooked by other traditional cooking methods. The All American pressure cookers are not recommended for glass cook tops or for canning fish.

What I like the most about this pressure cooker is its sturdy, and practical, construction, and how easily, and effectively, it performs. Its cast aluminum construction cooks food evenly, and makes the pressure easy to clean. One of its most popular features is the “metal-to-metal” sealing system.

It comes with the 15 ½ quart capacity for canning since it fits 7 quart sized canning jars perfectly. That makes most canning jobs very manageable. Many use it for making meals including stews, soups, and roasts, and have been very satisfied with the results. It is a good size for both all your pressure cooker needs.

The users that were familiar with other pressure cookers are happy that this pressure cooker does not have any gaskets and therefore it does not leak. (Over time gaskets on other pressure cookers can leak and wear out and therefore have to be replaced.) They say this pressure cooker clamps shut easily, it opens easily and it keeps the pressure evenly.

If you are looking for a medium sized pressure cooker that is well suited for canning as well as other pressure cooking needs, then the All American 915 is an excellent choice. It has a heavy, durable construction, is easy to use, safe and will last forever. It will do its job for many years to come and I highly recommended this to anyone who want to find a perfect pressure cooker. Although the All American 915 pressure cooker is more expensive than other pressure cookers that are the same size, but believe me it worth it.
